Nick Gardner is a faculty librarian at WVU Potomac State College. Nick spends most of his time helping students and faculty navigate today's complicated information landscape, through teaching instructional sessions to classes and one-on-one research consultations. Nick believes the present digital information environment is complex and that teaching skills to quickly seek out reliable and useful information is key. He is a member of the West Virginia Library Association, the Special Libraries Association, and the West Virginia/Western Pennsylvania chapter of the Association for College & Research Libraries. He has been a regular presenter at association meetings since 2018. He chaired WVLA's Library Instruction Roundtable from 2020-2021 and has worked with other team members of the ACRL chapter's professional development committee to run monthly webinars. When he is not busy with librarianship, Nick likes to spend his time outdoors looking for fossils and soaking up nature. Related to the former, Nick has authored papers in several academic journals, including Anatomical Record, Mammal Review, Marine and Fishery Sciences, Palaeontologia Electronica, and PLoS ONE.
